The Chainsmokers dethrone Calvin Harris as highest paid DJs
Calvin Harris has reigned as king of DJs because 2013, however after six consecutive years in the No. 1 spot in Forbes’ Highest-Paid DJs of 2019 record Harris was dethroned by The Chainsmokers. The duo earned $46 million in pretax income within the past 12 months, knocking Harris — with $38.5 million — down to No. 3 behind the disguised DJ Marshmello, who made $40 million. Rounding out the top 5 are Steve Aoki and Diplo, using $30 million and $25 million respectively.
The Chainsmokers — comprised Drew Taggart and Alex Pall — are known for their tune “Closer” together using Halsey, that has been a must-play at parties in the autumn of 2016. One of the reasons for their rise up the Forbes record is their residency with Wynn Nightlife in the SX Nightclub and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas, that began in 2017 and was recently extended for another 2 decades.
The group will take a break in their Vegas residency to start their trip for their latest record, World War Joy, this September.
