Famba Talks About Star Wars, His Career, and The Huge Success Of His Single “Storm” [Interview]

If there’s it’s Famba. The young Canadian DJ/Producer has developed quite the buzz and is extremely gifted. He’s had two songs chart on Canada’s Top 40 radio chart, opened for Marshmello at iHeart Radio’s Fan Fest at Toronto, and he also signed an exclusive recording contract with Sony Music Canada.

Most recently, Famba’s enormous solitary “Storm” (currently getting a push in the US from Robbins Entertainment) has begun to surge to the US dance charts, now sitting at #6! Its been charting for the previous 7 months and has showed no signs of slowing down. It s a time for Famba and we were delighted to be able to talk with him about his career thus far, his solitary “Storm”, and also just a bit of Star Wars! We hope you enjoy this interview.

Inform us where it comes in and about your title? 

I was watching Star Wars Episode I a couple of decades ago and about that time I was considering beginning a brand new alias. After finishing the movie I was thinking that maybe I could get a name associated with Star Wars… One thing lead to another, I was around ‘Wookieepedia’ and & ’s I discovered Fambaa (I took out an A)!

Have you ever watched Star wars Episode 9 yet? If this is so, what are your thoughts?

I did! I believed it was fantastic pieces we’re a little meh. Don’t even want to spoil anything with hellip & particulars; But overall I enjoyed it! 

Inform us about the story behind “Storm”. (How did that come about? Was the method any different from the way you create? Was this your first time working with Kyra?)

A friend Andrew had sent me that this thought he’d written that day. Storm’s version was at 100BPM and also had a lot of an & lsquo; rsquo & bull; vibe. I hauled it up aggressively quickly and required the vocal, we re-recorded that the vocals at a speed that was normal and the version that you hear today has been born! (After 30ish models and lol) 

The press release speaks about Storm reflecting your previous productions. Inform us about wherever Storm fits into a journey.

When I initially began releasing music under Famba, I was making house in 2015-2016. Finally I transitioned into making more pop/dance-pop leaning music. It was pleasant to come back to my own roots with Storm. That said, There’ll be much more enjoy it coming shortly  

Storm is over the radio and also SiriusXM . Can you expect that sort of answer?

It’s crazy! I don’t even think I ever actually expect a response. I work for so many hours & days & weeks that from the time that the song comes from my ears have been exhausted for this on my songs. I wish I could hear my music for the first time as a product. 

We noticed that you ’re making the move to Toronto, why?

I reside in Halifax now. It’s a great location but to be fair I just can’t even warrant living here. We’ve got a little airport so it’so hard to have flights out and in. Toronto has a cool vibe and I can’t even wait to relocate! 

What are some of your goals for 2020?

My aim is to continue pushing myself as a songwriter and producer. I’m onto a sound that I’ve been working up to for many years and I’m quite excited to see it play out. To remain healthy and happy. Thats the Main  

Is there?

My debut EP.  “Wishes Vol. 1& 1 rdquo; is finally releasing on Jan 31! I’ve already been working with it for a long time and have gone through so many demo’s. It’s fine to get it wrapped up and ready to ship to the world. Also I just released a remix for The Chainsmokers that was a objective of mine since I began Famba! Test it out!
