Saturday Night Session 043: Imanbek reveals an EP with Rita Ora is on the way and discusses his surprise career in music
When there was a case study performed on how social media can affect a musical profession, Kazakh producer Imanbek would be the ideal subject matter. The 20-year-old has released collaborations using Usher, Afrojack, and Don Diablo at the last six months. A year and a half ago, he was working in a train station in Aksu, Kazakhstan.
It all began when Imanbek, whose full name is Imanbek Zeikenov, found SAINt JHN’s “Roses. ” The tune had already been available for 3 years, but he believed that the tune could use a couple of electronic additions. Like every bedroom audio producer, he remixed it uploaded his illegal remix to Russian social media. The upload hit the world wide web and everything changed for Zeikenov. Even the remix spread like wildfire, leading to Imanbek signing to Russian label Effective Records. The label functioned with SAINt JHN‘s direction to re-release that the remix in a formal capacity, and the monitor is now only a few streams from the one billion flows mark.
If asked just how life has changed because the remix went viral,” he also stocks, “Life altered a lot and mainly brought me confidence from taking decisions. I understood that songs can be real part of my actual life professionally. So, I treat audio and audio creation very seriously. I still have a good deal of pleasure in doing what I need and love but I obviously understand I’m doing it on top level, and I have to focus on it. ”
Zeikenov is rapidly proving that just because his stardom was created from social media and just one hit, his artistry isn’t a thing to be questioned. His first remixes and releases fell sonically in accord with his own “Roses” remix, using a similarly common remix to get Rasster’s “Sad” gracing radio waves. Did you grow up a dance music enthusiast? What inspired you to start creating music?
Since I was a youngster, I always loved music and I really like it more every day. And that I really like to find new cool tracks and new artists. I guess this passion made me start experimenting with remixes as I had some ideas on how to modify my favourite track, and to play with them in some way. It began as bootlegs and unofficial remixes and turned into a main part of my entire life.
Are the artists you are presently cooperating with individuals you looked around, or does this last to all be new after the success of your remix of “Roses” catapulted you on a global stage?
Following the Roses Remix of mine became a large global strike, I began to collaborate with fresh and very established musicians, and I made only a couple remixes for my friends and colleagues I knew from earlier. It doesn’t imply that I completely changed my circle of friends in audio to state, it just took a lot time to get involved with a fresh page in my profession and of course I have to prioritise.

What’s one thing that your supporters don’t know about you?
I prefer to keep my personal life, personal and also my comfort zone shielded as I really like my family and my lifestyle so that there are lot of things that individuals don’t even know about me, but it only means that I’m not as distressed to show everything to wider audience. The world knows that I’m real and I’m a very simple person from Kazakhstan along with my story of success is quite pure and accurate, so I’m not the only man who uses it to tell some extra stories and attempt impress folks with edgy specifics. Luck loves silent ones, you know.
When live music resumes, how can we anticipate live performances or a tour ?
Absolutely yes, ready for it. I’ve received tons of requests from the biggest festivals and clubs, so me and my direction will tour the world once boundaries are opened. I made my own DJ project which worked super well before the virus times so today it is simply an issue of time.
